Understanding Power and Its Abuse

Devotional 1

Great Podcast on Power and its potential for abuse. All too often power is used to protect the system, not the victim. Research says the more power you have the less empathy we have to the suffering of others. A rather scary thought!

I remember during my hippy days we used to say "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." And Lord of the Rings certainly warned "the race of man" cannot be trusted with power.

How different Jesus is. All Power was given to Him, yet he used it in utmost servitude, using His power for blessing. (The link above will take you to the podcast.)

There is a great and humorous story of Diane meeting one of the princes of Abu Dubai at the end of the podcast.
