Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God (Mic. 6:8).
God has two dwellings; one in heaven, the other in a meek and thankful heart.

The First ...

Devotional 3

Three talks by Tim Keller, all about firsts in the Early Church. They are very good ... I especially liked The First Miracle.

I listened to "The First Church" and highly recommend it. It is only twenty minutes long. Timothy Keller gives a crystal clear explanation of how Christianity changed the world in the first three centuries, completely replacing the Greco-Roman culture, and how Christianity has formed the framework of how we think today in the western world. (Starting at 8:50 in the audio.)

It is easy to forget that the teachings of Jesus and the early church gave the world such wonderful social ideals as radical unselfishness, forgiveness, reconciliation with your enemies, care for the poor and basic universal human rights.

Listened to parts two and three. The last ten to fifteen minutes of each one are so so good. Thanks again for posting these.

Good talks, I agree. Thank you for posting them. It took me about a week to go through them all, but it was worth it. The second one (The First Sermon) has a pitch for finances near the beginning that lasts 10-12 minutes, and I almost decided not to listen to the rest. But I found the ending good, and I'm glad I stuck with it.
