There is such a good section starting at 18:30 about how to become a "channel of His Power." The first point was about "seeing your own powerlessness" how the Lord sometimes leads us into despair so we know our powerlessness, and help us realize that "without Him, we can do nothing."
I can relate to this much better this year, after Covid, then pneumonia etc. It goes on to say if you feel you are competent to run your own life, you have not seen your powerlessness and cannot be a channel of His Power. "Until you see your powerlessness, you cannot tap into any other Power." Keller goes deep, "the loneliness you feel because you don't have family or children cannot be managed by your own power." For some reason, this year, loneliness hit me more, and the podcast helped me to see He is trying to get me to draw closer to Him to lean on His power more in order to fight not only the personal battles I may have, but also for strength for the days ahead as the world seems to be getting darker and darker! Thank God He lovingly intervenes and sends us sicknesses and other reminders that we need Him.
A friend recently wrote me saying: "I used to thrive on work and being active and engaged, and in certain respects still do, but lately I’ve been feeling that I want less of that and more time to pursue God and get to know Him better." I can really relate to that, I want to be way more careful about the projects that I take on that keep me active and engaged--all the projects are wonderful, but I don't want them to take me away from pursuing God and maintaining my relationship with Him, which I feel needs to be strengthened. It can be difficult at times to find the balance, but I think (know) that the Lord wants me to spend more time with Him, and more time fundraising for the refugees and let our wonderful volunteers do the projects on the ground, which can be very tiring and often stressful. I love so much to be out, but I have worn myself out sometimes by pushing and pushing myself.
