Dr. Helen Roseveare (21 September 1925 – 7 December 2016) was an English Christian missionary, doctor, and author. She worked with Worldwide Evangelization Crusade in the Congo from 1953 to 1973, including part of the period of political instability in the early 1960s. She was brutally beaten and raped and tells her testimony.

    Beautiful thought / message from the Lord to Helen in her darkest hour: " Can you thank Me for trusting you with this terrible experience even if I never tell you why?" Wonderful the peace she found once she consented. She is a great sample of a living sacrifice. Blessed, privileged are the persecuted! I don't think I could go through such hell...like she said, she would have preferred the bullet originally.
