    Thanks, Jon. Interesting look at AI and its capabilities. I didn't realize it was the intro to a series of talks on the subject till it neared the end. After John Lennox talks about his background, it's a little dry and technical, but AI is a hot theme and a big deal in the world right now. And like he says, there's a lot of hype. I read something a while back (and I'm sorry I don't have the facts on hand, so I might be getting it wrong), about how a normal human could be told to go out the door and walk around the building, and there'd be no problem. But for a robot, even one powered by AI, it'd be a huge challenge and almost impossible. It's because the human brain is constantly making complex unconscious decisions that the robot or AI system doesn't even realize it needs to make in something as simple as walking around a building. So chatbots powered by AI, for example, can be fascinating, but so far they're just idiots in comparison to the human brain. Our brains are supercomputers in their capabilities, even if they seem to suffer brain fog sometimes or need a good dose of caffeine to function well :).

    I read something similar, Frank, about a real comparison between the human brain and AI. Nice to keep that balance in mind when reading/hearing the media hype surrounding the subject. And I must admit a good cup of java helps me keep a bout of "Sometimers" at bay.

    Thanks for the post and comments. It's all very interesting. I am pretty sure, the intent of AI and the results are going to be 2 different things. I don't know if you saw, "The Social Dilemma" on Netflix. It expresses and articulates how modern technology can take on a life of it's own. At least we know the end result and we are confident of "our end game".

    I did see The Social Dilemma ... great expose and very interesting how much of the expose was by former social media giant executives.

    I agree: "The Social Dilemma" was great. It's interesting how many top executives of IT firms impose tech limits on their kids or send them to Waldorf schools, which are almost entirely low-tech environments.
